Introduction and advice needed

I've lost 22 pounds by dieting, but I seem to be stuck where I am. I've a little under 40 pounds to go, and it seems like I'm not getting anywhere lately. Weight loss is a lot slower now than when I started. I'm getting discouraged.

I know I need to exercise more, but time constraints keep me from doing it every day. I've been walking because that doesn't require a membership or special equipment, and I can do it at my own pace. I swim, but not so much that I'd count it as exercise for the purpose of losing weight. I've been considering trying out Nutrisystem, but the price makes me gag: $300 for a month's worth of food. Now while it's true that if I'm eating this stuff and not anything else I'd be going through about that much money (I guess) in groceries, but just the thought of spending that much money up front makes me wonder if I'd be wasting my money or if it is worth a shot. $300 is a lot of money to part with all at once. What if I don't like the food? What if it doesn't work? What if I'm just allowing my reservations from keeping me from trying something that might work?

Has anyone else tried this, and did it work for you?
